Jussi Halla-aho wants to be the number one in the country to implement the things he thinks are right. Their list is clear and even colder than cold.
To be chosen as the presidential candidate of the Basic Finns in August Jussi Halla-aho in the kingdom's hierarchy, as speaker of the parliament, is second only to the president Sauli Niinistö after.
The presidential elections in January of next year will show whether the extreme right in Finland is still getting stronger. Now, with the help of the coalition, it already sits in the government, although even there it is still in the second position.
Although Halla-aho has only been speaker for three weeks, it is already clear that he does not intend to stick to the traditional role of speaker outside of daily politics. He uses his position fully to strengthen the basic Finnish party and his own position.
With the war in Ukraine, basic Finns and its spiritual leader have been made salon-worthy.
As chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Halla-aho did not refrain from hate speech, rather the opposite. As chairman and presidential candidate, he continues on the same line.
Basic Finns, first from the opposition and now from strong positions in the government, accelerated the anti-Russian policy, with the help of which it is intended to open the areas in Finnish territory that are used by the US armed forces.
During the war in Ukraine, the targets of Halla-aho's attacks have primarily been Russians and Russia.
"Killing Russians is a good thing"
"The war can only be ended by killing the Russians," claims Halla-aho, and says that everything that contributes to the killing of the Russians is right and necessary.
Halla-aho's speeches inevitably bring to mind the person who led his government as prime minister Sanna Marini (sd) speeches on the necessity of military victory.
Already during Marin's government, the extreme right gave its full support to sanctions against Russia, arms exports to Ukraine, Finland's NATO membership, and now also the establishment of NATO and its member countries' bases in Finland.
Halla-aho, who was the chairman of the foreign affairs committee, gained publicity by buying one artillery shell for the Ukrainian army and justifying his actions by saying that killing Russian soldiers is a good thing.
Cannonballs to kill Russian soldiers have also been financed by a writer, among others Sofi oksanen and director of the Foreign Policy Institute Mika Aaltola.
Halla-aho also thinks it is right to demonize the enemy - that is, the Russians. In his opinion, the carnivalization of killing is necessary. The enemy to be killed has to be stripped of his humanity.
Halla-aho has gained more and more widespread acceptance after his hate speech only targets Russians.
The logic is the same as the attitude of the leaders of NATO and most of the EU member states and the mainstream media towards the extreme right-wing and neo-fascist groups fighting in Ukraine. As long as you fight the Russians, you can openly proclaim fascism and no one criticizes you for it.
"Determined National Socialist"
Iltalehti editor Lauri Nurmen in the "unofficial biography" written by Halla-aho, a picture emerges of Halla-aho as "a tough and determined National Socialist and career politician, for whom the economic, social and cultural capital brought by his family background has given him excellent opportunities to rise to a high social position".
This is what the journalist who wrote the review of the book says Pasi Huttunen.
"Halla-aho becoming the leader of the far-right has been a tough place for the cultural family", states Huttunen, according to whom the leader of the basic Finns is a prime example of the fact that "especially the part of the population that longs for strong leadership wants as their leader exactly those gentlemen who at the same time loudly despise the coffee table at the gas station".
In Huttunen's opinion, humanistic education can take a person very far. "This is so despite the fact that Halla-aho himself defines humanists as inferior people in the same group as immigrants and those receiving income transfers".
According to Nurmi's assessment, Halla-aho promotes the National Socialist ideology coldly calculatingly and emphasizing reason, writes Huttunen and refers to the biography stating that Halla-aho adopted the ideology at a young age and stuck to it determinedly.
Hatred of Jews as a crown in a fascist hat
Halla-aho declared himself an Aryan at a young age and said he was proud of being an Aryan. Year after year, Nurmi discovers the negative attitude towards Jews that is a seamless part of the National Socialist ideology after systematically digesting hundreds of Halla-aho's writings.
As a doctoral researcher, Halla-aho called the genocide of the Jews a "historical curiosity" and belittles genocide, or the Holocaust. During the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, Halla-aho wrote mockingly about holo-loiterers and holo-robbery.
In 2011, Halla-aho was in the middle of a big uproar when it was assumed that he was a Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik too apprentice father. The Public Word Council did not consider this to be true in its questionable "judgment", even though Breivik's manifesto quoted the author, who in turn quoted Halla-aho.
However, Breivik and Halla-aho thought in the same way about immigration and Islam.
In his manifesto, Breivik estimated that there are more than 5 "patriots" in Finland who are ready to fight against immigration and "Islamization".
Halla-aho's attitude to the Utöya massacre, in which Breivik killed 77 people - most of them young - was in itself quite ridiculous.
"You will be threatened and people will be shot at if you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Let's add to this that Anders Breivik happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time in July."
The basic Finnish leader of later times also previously sat on the board of the far-right Suomen Sisu. The organization was an important tool for Halla-aho in capturing the basic Finnish party in the hands of the extreme right. Timo Soinin flirting with the extreme right eventually ended up embarrassing Halla-aho's back win for Soin.
"Sisu, through the politicians who grew up in its circle, plays an important role in the growth of basic Finns from a party of half a percent to a party of 20 percent," Halla-aho said in 2013 when he appeared at the organization's event.
Suomen Sisu recommended its members to read literature and racial doctrine published by fascist Germany. One of the recommended works was the Nazi leader by Alfred Rosenberg written by "Towards a New Europe".
Rosenberg, considered the main ideologue of the National Socialists, was sentenced to death by the Allied Nuremberg Tribunal and executed as one of the war criminals in 1946.
Nurme's assessment of Halla-aho becoming "more moderate" is chilling:
"Halla-aho has always been politically incorrect, but its forms have changed: openly racist expressions, referencing studies of intelligence differences between races or defending the freedom of speech of a French Holocaust denier have made room for less questionable forms of incorrectness and provocation," writes Nurmi. "As if Halla-aho wants to be prime minister after all."
Even then, a possible presidency was not in sight, but now it might be.
Does rape heal from green-leftism?
Halla-aho's 2006 article Multiculturalism and a woman is also often referred to, in which the future presidential candidate seemed to hope and by Eva Biaudet that (rkp) that Tarja Filatovina (sd) falling victim to rapists with an immigration background.

Halla-aho removed Biaudet's name from the text he wrote in Scripta after he became chairman of Basic Finns in 2017. However, the original version of the text can still be found in the online library Internet Archive.
Foreign Affairs Committee as chairman in 2022
Biaudet has not forgotten Halla-aho's writings.
When Halla-aho was elected as the chairman of the parliament's foreign affairs committee in 2022, 11 members of the committee voted for his election in a closed ballot. Biaudet, who had demanded a vote on the matter, later said that he voted no, like five other committee members.
Some of the government party representatives in the foreign affairs committee voted in favor of Halla-aho's choice; the representatives of the Greens and the Left Alliance and Biaud voted no, maybe even some Democrats.
In connection with the vote, Biaudet referred to Halla-aho's previous writing and said that Halla-aho has never regretted the matter. Biaudet did not want to contribute to the selection of Halla-aho.
Halla-aho stated after becoming chairman of the foreign affairs committee after the vote that he has not considered apologizing to Biaudet.
Halla-aho was elected chairman of the committee by basic Finns who were critical of NATO Mika Niikon in place of.
Niikko had to resign because of a tweet with incorrect content. Amid the war hysteria, he dared to propose diplomacy to end the war in Ukraine, asking whether it would be wiser for Ukraine to stay outside NATO.
Niiko's resignation from the chairmanship of the committee was demanded by all key politicians who supported NATO membership, from right to left, even though they knew that Halla-aho was the choice of basic Finns as the new chairman.
Many political observers estimate that Halla-aho uses the chairmanship of the foreign affairs committee as a springboard to become foreign minister or speaker of parliament in the future. And to later also be the presidential candidate of the basic Finns.
Halla-aho no back off about their policies
Many politicians say that they are disturbed by the background of Halla-aho, who now wants to be the presidential candidate of the fundamental Finns. He himself says that he will not resign from the positions and formulations he presented in his old blog posts.
- Some have been stupid and thoughtless. Some have been the kind of comments that can be said as an ordinary tramp, but not as a politician. And there have been some things that, taken out of context, sound crazy, but there was and still is a point, says Halla-aho himself.
Few people remember Halla-aho's sentences anymore, which the core group of the party, supported by hundreds of active Twitter users, consider rather a feather in their hat than punishment for crimes.
In 2012, the Supreme Court (KKO) sentenced Halla-aho to a fine for violating religious peace and inciting against a national group.
Halla-aho had claimed that Islam is a pedophilia religion, i.e. a religion of meddling with children. Halla-aho denigrated Somalis by claiming that looting and parasitizing with tax funds is a national and perhaps even genetic characteristic of Somalis.
KKO considered the statements about Islam used by Halla-aho to be slanderous and defamatory in content and expression. Characterizations concerning Somalis KKO called Somalis as a national group slanderous and insulting.
According to KKO, Halla-aho's statements were apt to arouse intolerance, contempt and even hatred towards the ethnic group they were targeted at. As statements similar to hate speech, Halla-aho's views did not enjoy the protection of freedom of speech, according to KKO.
Few people remember that in 2011, Halla-aho was also expelled for a couple of weeks from the parliamentary group of Basic Finns after proposing a military junta to solve the problems in Greece.
According to Halla-aho herself, "this was a somewhat pointed way of expressing the fact that it is a problem built into democracy that decisions against the will of the people, even if they are necessary, are very difficult to push through. This is the situation that prevails in Greece.

The harsh irony of history is that almost at the same time that Breivik is murdering young people in Norway and the motive is Islamophobic heresies, official Norway begins its own crusade against the Arab countries, first by bombing Libya and then by aiding Islamists and separatists seeking a coup in Syria. When Breivik's actions gathered psychologists from all over Norway to consider the perpetrator's state of mind and his personal history, no one saw the need to examine the state of mind of Jens Stoltenberg and the rest of the political leadership when they started a series of international crimes in which Breivik remains a petty perpetrator. The simultaneity of Breivik's and Stoltenberg's criminals was not a coincidence, but two lines that, although on the surface seem independent, reveal the political crisis and impasse in the West. God forbid that Halla-aho's road would be Finland's road, but at least that's what the media and parties seem to want.
At one point, I was largely a supporter of Halla-aho - but not an admirer or even a follower of his words. I sympathized with Halla-aho and considered the treatment he received a deliberate misunderstanding of things; as a personal chase and a political operation against the PS party. I still consider Jaakko Laakso's interpretations of Halla-aho's immigration-related issues a bit populist and unfair in their interpretation.
If I had known about Halla-aho what I know now, my attitude would have been the opposite, even though - as said - on some issues he dared to be on different lines than the power elite, and often I think he was right. But I always seem to swim upstream. Now that the power elite has turned to support Halla-aho because of his pro-NATO and hatred of Russia, I, on the contrary, have turned my back on him for the same reasons. He has probably always been a USA-NATO fan, a supporter of the EU federation, a Russophobe and a globalist, I just haven't realized it before.
Halla-aho is a pure-blooded opportunist. Of course, he is also a fascist because he supports US/Western-led globalism. Globalism is clearly a fascist, totalitarian and imperialist ideology.
Jussi Halla-aho lacks common sense, a sense of proportionality. He doesn't understand that the chairman of the foreign affairs committee can't have the rhetoric of a street kid. Of course, this also applies to many other Finnish politicians.
In the spring of 2020, a corona fascist hatched very naturally from Halla-aho. No closures of society or trampling on fundamental rights were too much for him or the bastards. The demonization of Russian soldiers from the position of the chairman of the foreign affairs committee didn't hurt either. It never occurred to anyone to ask what kind of foreign policy wisdom and statesmanship Halla-aho showed when he demanded politicians and citizens to base their actions on irrational images.
Yes, Jussi Halla-aho can become president. The soil could not be cultivated much better.
